In the Poem an Ocean

Opal light
oblique shadow
surf sculpting
bit by bit
land newborn
waves rock
the shore
mother’s heartbeat
to soothe
cradle well being
words drop
from moon’s orbit
ready for the one
that will carry me
far out into
groundswell
